Board of Directors Volunteer Opportunities
The Corina Mae Foundation is growing, and we are seeking dedicated, compassionate leaders to join our Board of Directors. Our mission is to connect disabled individuals across Alabama with clear, accessible, and trustworthy resources — and we cannot do this work without strong, community‑rooted leadership.
We welcome applicants who bring heart, lived experience, professional insight, or a passion for disability inclusion. Disabled individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
Serving on our Board of Directors
Serving on our Board of Directors is an opportunity to help shape a statewide disability resource network built on clarity, dignity, and community care.
This is a volunteer position, and we deeply understand that people have jobs, families, and responsibilities. We work to schedule meetings and events around directors’ availability.
Directors may join meetings via video call when needed.
All directors’ names and short bios will be featured on our website to help build trust and transparency with the communities we serve.

Who We're Seeking
We are seeking individuals who can contribute to the strength and integrity of our Board. This section outlines the qualities that help ensure effective leadership.
Community-minded leaders
Individuals who care deeply about strengthening disability inclusion in Alabama and beyond. People who show up for their communities, listen well, and understand the importance of building trust with disabled individuals and families.
Advocates for accessibility and resource equity
Individuals who believe that every disabled person deserves clear, accessible, and dignified information. Passion for fairness, inclusion, and removing barriers is more important than formal experience.
Reliable, collaborative decision‑makers
Volunteers who communicate openly, follow through on commitments, and work respectfully with others. We value people who contribute thoughtfully to group discussions and help create a supportive, solutions‑focused board environment.
Willing learners and adaptable contributors
People who are open to growing with a developing organization. You don’t need prior board experience — just a willingness to learn, ask questions, and help shape a foundation that is still expanding its reach and impact.
